This photograph does not give due justice to the beauty of Praia de Wimbi, Pemba, Mozambique. As a piece of work, it is deficient in creativity of composition and the color sorely lacks density and "pop"!! (And in my opinion, as a professional photographer, it is not just the re-printing process!)Color should be a defining element of the composition of a color photograph and here there is little, if any color, to be seen. Where are the enticing shades of a blue and turquoise sea, where are the fluffy, white clouds and blue skies to contrast againest the soft, beige sands and majestic palms? The colorful clothing of Mozambicans, particularly the capulanas worn by many women, could add a lot of color, as well. It is unfortunate that the image was apparently used just to fill space to provide some type of information or interest in Pemba or Wimbi despite the lack of merit in the work. Other spectacular photographs of this beach do exist, I have shot many myself. I think you should be more selective in what images you choose as art to place in your publication. After all, they can be seen all over the world via the web through your publication which is one of very few on Mozambique. Your country is incredibly beautiful and unique and anything representing it, particularly images, should exclimate that and not in any way detract from it.
